However the truth is that an LPN program takes about a year to complete and another year if they wish to continue with the RN program. The best is to undergo LPN to RN program to save time, money and energy. There are many colleges and universities that have now started offering LPN to RN programs so that it is easier for students to undergo the course while they are working.

The nursing shortage in the country was not a major problem a year ago. US government is trying to overcome the shortage but it seems there is still a need for more nurses. Nationwide the nursing shortage was estimated at 6 percent in 2000. However it is estimated to grow to an estimated 29 percent by the year 2020. The LPN to RN program allows students to get their Nursing Diploma since all states require Professional Nurses to be licensed.

Nursing is a profession which focuses on a wide range of human related responses observed in both sick and well persons. Nurses are highly respected and supported by the public. The LPN to RN Program are intended for those qualified LPNs who aspire to become Registered Nurses to do so within a minimum period of time and with a minimum duplication of course content and credits. There are hardly any nurses who are in this profession for not just money. Their hours are long and the pressure is tremendous and the pay is nowhere close to what it should be. Generally the LPN to RN program is for 36 weeks that makes it easy for you to carry on with your part time work. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the exam to become licensed as a registered nurse.

Improving Access to Health Care

http://lpntorn.weebly.com/1/post/2009/02/improving-access-to-health-care.html

http://lpntorn.weebly.com/1/post/2009/02/improving-access-to-health-care.html#comments

Uncategorized

US President Barrack Obama has named a University of North Dakota rural healthcare expert to head the federal agency in charge of improving access to care in the United States.
