Charles L.Ewing who is the president and CEO of Ewing Moving Service Inc. has been honored member in business by online business community Princeton Premier. Courtney Murrah has joined the Exchange Club Family Center as the new director of marketing and special events. He will be responsible for overseeing internal and external marketing and public marketing too.

Vanderbilt University School of Nursing has named its “Top 100 Leaders” recipients in honor of the school’s 100th anniversary. The individuals were honored for making significant impact in the world of health care and nursing. Different members have different qualities in their personalities.

The James Rumsey Technical Institute of The Jill S weekley Learning Center is offering a variety of free programs. The participants can be of 16 years of age or older too who are still out of public systems. The excellent quality is that they are completely free of cost for everyone. The students can join classes both in day and evening hours. Certain programs available are LPN Programs, essay writing and basic study skills etc.


The practice in office test will also be given on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 8 am and the first Thursday of each month at 4 pm. The Learning Centre is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 am to 4 pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12noon to 9pm.All the students can take equal profits and also avail facilities from every program going on in the institute.

Outstanding graduates are chosen for representing eight academic colleges in The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The ULL Alumni Association is organizing this function and named it as fall 2008. The eight finalists were selected by the deans of their respective colleges. The students have remarkable efforts in their fields

Some Colleges are Colleges of Sciences, College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions as well as College of Liberal Arts. One of the students has planned to work at Walt Disney College Program and has also planned to pursue a career as a special –events coordinator and wedding planner. The students who are among eight have different potentials in their personality.

The new five star rating scales specially made for nursing home quality which was released on Thursday by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). However it is very complex and not very accurate system which failed to provide consumers an appropriate tool for measuring quality of care. Mostly hospitals rated below average ratings. The ratings are taken without testing and reviews.

The American Health Care Association is strongly supporting a quality index but believes the five star systems must be improved to meet the goals. It is important to take quality elements for checking the information.  The CMS rating must not be complex and easy to understand. It must be a good guidance for the management of hospitals.

It is very challenging to tackle mental retarded persons. They need special care and understanding them is a big deal. For them the nurses must be attentive, empathetic and responsible too. For curing mental problems they need special feeling for patients as well as special efforts in their education. There are various degrees of mental cases that need attention.

Mental nurses should be enthusiastic and aware of the challenges that she will be facing. A mental nurse’s job is very important. Day by Day the numbers are increasing rapidly. This means the need of nurses who can provide mental care is also increasing. Most of the mental hospitals require dedicated, qualified and experienced nurses as they know that dealing with mental cases is not that easy.

A report send by Florida Center for Nursing Care estimated that the shortage of nursing could increase to 52,000 within the next 13 years. Whenever we hear the term nursing a female well dressed up appears in our mind. However some of the colleges are reporting that more males are applying to registered nursing programs.

According to the statistics report presented by the American Nurses Association 6 percent of the nurses across the United States are male. Edison College in Fort Myers that offers Bachelor’s of science in nursing had an increase in the male nurse population. That was surprising for most of the college are they thought that only females were more sensitive and emotion than males so they preferred nursing.

Future nurses are using their skills at City College of San Francisco in a lifelike hospital ward, but it is very hard for them to focus on saving lives when graduates are doing without a job in sight. As society needs nurses, they also need employment. 700 qualified Student applied for 48 spots in the nursing school.

As job fuel economies and City College wants nurses in hospitals.  The reputed colleges need registered nurses to handle patients with care and empathy. All the nurses in San Francisco demands satisfactory living standard for fulfilling their needs. Just like the Rest of the World, medical people is also looking new way of development.

The Auckland District Health Board is quitting its contract of providing heart treatment to adults as they are facing difficulties in hiring and retaining enough specialist nurses. Kay Hyman, the board’s general manager of clinical services said that they are not able to increase the production of Cardio-thoracic and vascular intensive care nursing staff.

The Auckland City Hospital heart service intensive care unit has around 70 nurses but is still short of 15 nurses. In the last financial year 79 Tahitians were treated and they have plans to increase it further. Tahitian children are also treated there but they are mainly focusing on adults.

Research has proved that nursing programs have become very expensive. Most of the students are forced to take on a second job just to afford the expenses attached to their studies. Around 44 percent of nursing students are planning to leave their courses due to financial reasons.

Report says that nursing students are struggling to manage in the current difficult economic status. Dr. Peter Carter, RCN chief executive and general secretary said that they want a first class health service and nurses but the government needs to take step to drop down the expenses so that nurses can avail the expenses.
