The University of Nebraska Medical Center will share space in the building to train nurses. They have a goal to open it by 2010. Shell Point Retirement Community has invested $24 million in renovation for expanding and upgrading the skilled nursing facility on the Island which will be known as the Larsen Pavilion. Beloit is growing with the racial disparity with new statistics. Rock Country Department Nursing Supervisor Janet Zoellner declared that 17.7 African American infants are dying per one thousand with live births in 2007 which is an increase from 16.8 per one thousand the year before.
