The University of Nebraska Medical Center will share space in the building to train nurses. They have a goal to open it by 2010. NU officials are asking the state in their next two year budget request to help them in hiring faculty and support staff for Norfolk location.

UNMC also wants to build a $17.5 million nursing facility for its Lincoln-based programs. They believe the early they build the building the sooner the shortage of nurses can be overcome. As they too understand that gradually every year the shortage of nurses is increasing.

Two congressmen in a letter this week to President-elect Obama’s designated Secretary of Veterans Affairs said that French Camp is the best place to build a nursing home for veterans because of how close it is to an existing outpatient clinic and several major freeways.

Stanislaus County, too, is vying to get the clinic built in Modesto, but folks from the Veteran Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System said they’ve met more with San Joaquin County officials than anyone else. The county has offered what the veterans group called a good deal on land near the general hospital. A valley clinic wouldn’t get built until sometime around 2015 at the earliest, according to the Palo Alto veteran group.

The Mercy Health Partners is ignoring nurses now who have done LPN. Now they are moving towards LPN to RN programs and in the next month. Mercy officials are saying that the country’s largest employer is doing well for registered nurses. The program will need more registered nurses instead of licensed nurses. The administration is giving emphasis on the acute care and perfect treatment for the patients. In the programs, they were planning to increase to promote open business by inviting private patients in their hospitals. The patients are also appreciating the steps taken by the administration. As the number is increasing in gastrointestinal illness, colds and upper respiratory infections in the society, the Western Maryland Health System is advising limited arrival by the family and patients at Memorial hospitals. The patients who are suffering from these diseases are requested not to call any attendant in the hospital.

Shell Point Retirement Community has invested $24 million in renovation for expanding and upgrading the skilled nursing facility on the Island which will be known as the Larsen Pavilion. It was built in 1971; the Larsen Pavilion has taken license for 219 beds and was serving both residents of Shell Point and the outside community. The facility was also accepting short term patients it means if you need short duration care or illness of short time, you can also go there.  

The Community was remodeled by Jorgensen Construction and also designed by RDG Architects. The slab to roof renovation was upgraded not only this every component and space in the building. They are upgrading themselves for bringing more efficiency in the skilled nurses by giving more life care services to more than 2,100 residents.

Beloit is growing with the racial disparity with new statistics. Rock Country Department Nursing Supervisor Janet Zoellner declared that 17.7 African American infants are dying per one thousand with live births in 2007 which is an increase from 16.8 per one thousand the year before. If we compare 9.05 that is non Hispanic white infant deaths per thousand live births in 2007, then the non white ratio is greater.

 
The racial disparity in Beloit infant mortality rate is second only to Racine’s in Wisconsin. She also told that they had so much disparity but still they need to take more measures to remove this in the society.

The Lions and Leo Clubs delivered gifts to the senior citizens on Cayman Brac; it was bringing good cheer to the communities of Spot Bay and the Watering Hole on Cayman Brac. Nurses also had the gift and they are very happy after getting importance in the society. One of the senior citizen told that the art of sharing symbolizes community spirit, but they had lost many things because of the hurricane .Now they want to give thanks to God as his blessings are continuous. 


Nurses are very happy to see that someone still needs them in the society and helping them to live comfortably their lives. The moments are very touching and memorable as the club members still remember the senior nurses. However the gifts are not very costly but the feeling are very precious.
